The Communications Specialist plays an important role in our strategy by bringing the stories of the field — for example, tracking mountain lions, using prescribed fire to boost biodiversity, giving a voice to youth who are yearning to improve their world — to life through the lens of our values of heart, boldness, and impact; and sharing these stories across our owned media: social, web, and email. The Communications Specialist may join other staff in the field to capture images, reflections, and learnings and may also draw from imagery and experiences provided by others. Using a warm and informative tone that centers learning and collaboration, the Communications Specialist helps prompt action. Understanding that landscape-scale stewardship requires more people with diverse world views and skillsets, the Communications Specialist also highlights the work of partners and acknowledges traditionally sidelined perspectives.
